Matt & Mandy Cusack with EmilyThe yard is owned and run by Matt and Mandy Cusack.  Mandy (yard manager) is a Qualified BHS Equine Coach who has over 15 years experience in the equine industry.  Matt (maintenance manager) has more than 20 years experience in countryside management. Matt is the National Trust's Head Warden at the Hindhead Commons & The Devil's Punch Bowl property in nearby Surrey.  He looks after 5 herds of Exmoor ponies and is heavily involved in promoting equestrian access within the countryside.

GrazingThe barn, manege and stables are situated within 17 acres of grassland, which means plenty of year-round, ragwort free grazing and is ideal for children. The property is situated with excellent access to the local bridleway network and we are only 4 miles from the South Downs Way National Trail. Our aim is to provide quality, affordable accommodation for your horse, and that is why we are currently applying to become a BHS Approved Livery Yard. We have limited the number of horses and ponies at our yard so that we do not overgraze the paddocks.

Layout of fieldsWe have a wide variety of paddocks at Hazelbank. They range from a 0.2 acre starvation paddock (B1) to a 1.4 acre paddock (D2) suitable for 2 or 3 horses if owners want their horses to live in a small herd. All paddocks have a surfaced  track to the gateway, a galvanised mains water trough and at least one large tree to provide shelter in the winter and shade in the summer (many also have a hedge to provide additional protection).

See some of or clients in December's edition of "HORSE" magazine!
